Sveriges Hamnar recently received notices of strikes and blockades from the Swedish Dockworkers’ Union and the Swedish Transport Workers’ Union. Following negotiations, a new Port and Stevedoring Agreement was signed on May 20 between Sveriges Hamnar and the Transport Workers’ Union, leading to the withdrawal of all planned industrial actions by Transport.
However, strike notices from the Swedish Dockworkers’ Union remain in place. On May 21, the union carried out a planned partial strike from 12:00 to 18:00 in all Swedish ports.
Additional strike actions have been announced at APM Terminals from May 25 at 22:00 to May 26 at 23:00, as well as on June 2 from 06:00 to 23:00.
Sveriges Hamnar has responded with a mirror lockout, meaning that members of the Dockworkers’ Union will be prevented from accessing their workplaces during the strikes.
We are closely monitoring the situation.
